On this historic and momentous occasion, we gather (in front of our screens and a lucky few at St Peter's) to celebrate the formal Mass for Pope Leo XIV's installation. This is a significant occasion in the life of the Church, one that symbolizes the continued strength and guidance of the Holy See. The words of St Agustine are coming to life before our very eyes.
As Catholic Physicians, we are reminded of our commitment to the Church and to the values of compassion, service, and faith that guide us in our daily work.
Let us join together in prayer for Pope Leo XIV, asking for God’s grace to sustain him in his new role and inspire him to lead the faithful worldwide. May his pontificate be one of peace, unity, and spiritual renewal for all.
As a fellow (adopted) Chicagoan, I cherish the chance to witness the Holy Spirit in action, providing wisdom and faith to the Church through the Servant of the Servants of God, a humble Southsider bending to the Will of God. I also reflect on our own vocations and renew our commitment to serving Christ and His Church with devotion and love.
We look forward to celebrating this historic moment with you in prayer and fellowship. May God bless Pope Leo XIV and each of you in your continued service to His people.
